About EdVenture

EdVenture is an immersive camp experience in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Designed to help families make the most of Hokkaido’s incredible green season. The week-long programs connect children and young people to new friends from around the world, learning new skills, with their family members in innovative ways. The camp takes full advantage of its location nestled between the iconic Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.

About the Role

As a Nurse and Program Support at EdVenture Kids Camp, you will ensure the health and safety of campers and staff and support the overall camp experience. In addition to overseeing medical needs, you will assist with maintaining camp facilities and facilitating camp activities. Your role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment, helping ensure that all participants have an enjoyable and memorable camp experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support camper's medical needs, such as managing their medication schedules (morning, noon, evening).
  • Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate first aid or emergency care as needed.
  • Maintain camper health records and communicate with guardians regarding any health concerns or medication needs.
  • Keep medical kits and first aid supplies organized and stocked, ensuring availability for all staff and campers.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the camp facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized camp environment.
  • Support the planning and facilitation of camp activities, ensuring a safe and fun experience for all campers.
  • Be willing to stay on-site overnight to be available for any medical concerns or emergencies that may arise.

Key Qualities

  • Nursing or medical experience, with first aid and CPR certifications preferred.
  • Experience in a camp or educational setting is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with campers, staff, and parents.
  • Valid Japanese driver’s licence or eligibility for an International Driving Permit.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa or already have the legal right to work in Japan.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills such as Japanese or other languages are a plus.

Salary

  • ¥2,100 per hour
  • Mid-June until late August with the possibility of extension till the end of September.
  • Depending on customer demand and reservations, working hours can range anywhere from 8 to 40 hours per week, including weekends. You will have at least one full day off each week.  (6-8 Hours per day, up to 6 days per week)
